Apple Kicks Its Users in the Privates (again)
26 November 2008 @ 21:14 GMT
by Paul

Just as I started thinking that Apple wasn't all that bad, they start behaving despicably (again). First, they're planning monitors that don't let you watch the content that is legally yours.

Now, they are trying an evil vendor lock in system with iPods. I own an iPod, it's a beautiful little device. I almost fell in love with it until I realised that it wouldn't play Ogg Vorbis or Flac files.

Microsoft is evil. Apple is evilerer.

First of all. If your first comment is referring to the iTunes problem of playing movies and videos, i believe you need to look at the license for the content.

Secondly, there are many other audio players that won't play Ogg Vorbis or FLAC. Maybe you should complain about those as well.

There is a commonly used open source operating system for ipods and other such media players called Rockbox. You can replace the nasty apple system, and on top of just using it as a media player, it lets you play gameboy games, and do pretty much anything you want.

x5315, shut the fuck up. Apple sucks (and Microsoft)! Get over it fanboy. Open source Rules the land.
