Log handling in apache
5 March 2004 @ 17:38 GMT

As many may know your apache httpd.conf can include many log files for each virtual host, if you are using vitual hosts that is.

Fortunately, at least in Debian, if you include extra log files you don't have to make sure that they are all rotated. The apache script that Debian places in /etc/cron.daily actually parses the httpd.conf file, finds all your logs and rotates them, without you having to customise your log rotate scripts.

Cool!

Do other distros handle it in the same way?
